Summary:
The Director manages SW Engineering and development resources and activities within a Product Development team.
They provide technical leadership for the ongoing transformation of TriZetto products; acting as a thought leader, driving the future technology direction for the product as well as bringing new and progressive ideas which will lead to successful development and delivery of TriZetto software. Leading the charge on software engineering best practices while serving as a mentor/guide for a team of software developers.
The Director of SW Engineering works continuously to improve the quality of the software products and deliverable: gets quality software written and product out the door. Collaborates with other development leaders to advance SCRUM, innovative development and best practices of the latest technology for new products as well as enhancing the quality and functionality of existing products. Will ensure engineering resources are aligned with customer needs and contribute to or lead evolution. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the creation of technical specifications/POCs, code development/review, configuration/build activities, unit testing, and the regular monitoring and reporting of work progress, problems and trends to deliver software in a timely manner. This position facilitates collaboration with teams of designers, software architects and engineers, customer support, documentation and quality assurance resources, as well as overseeing the work of offshore development resources. This position will evaluate the continued evolution of the infrastructure of a product set and may also be a participant on advisory groups to provide direction with regards to TriZetto's technology progression and adoption. Must have a strong understanding of TriZetto infrastructure, development practices, platforms, and the roles of various groups.
Essential Functions:
- Leading the activities of the software development staff and setting technology direction
- Review and monitor development activities to ensure it is of highquality, meets its ontime delivery schedule and within budget.
- A mentor to develop a high performance team. Develop guidelines to monitor effectiveness of the group. Supports behaviors and empowers team members to plan and execute work.
- Promoting and maintaining a high quality, professional, service oriented company image among users by ensuring high quality development techniques, and generating new, innovative procedures for improving development activities.
Qualifications:
- Requires relevant Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 or more years related work experience and 5 years experience managing onshore and offshore engineering teams and 5 yearsof SCRUM/Agile experience. Prefer 10 years work related experience along with 5 years experience managing onshore and offshore engineering teams and 5 yearsof SCRUM/Agile experience.
- Expert knowledge of JEE, Hibernate, Spring, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Spring, extJS, SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Server, Oracle, Apache Tomcat (TomEE+), and SCRUM.
- Healthcare insurance industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.v
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
