Software Engineer “Makes a Difference” by:
The Build and Packaging Engineer will be a valued member of the T3 development community assigned to the Infrastructure team who has a unique opportunity to drive and influence how the QNXT software is built and deployed in distributed environments. Our Build and Packaging Engineers are at the forefront of technical and thought leadership around architecting solutions that bring the diverse framework of QNXT to a varied customer base quickly, consistently and with the highest standard of quality. The primary role within the Infrastructure team includes adding value in the building of the QNXT software, maintaining/enhancing installation packages, creating cumulative and incremental upgrades and deployment engineering in a fast paced environment. The secondary role also allows the Engineer to augment the Infrastructure team by supporting the QNXT database structures through enhancement and performance optimization. In addition the team participates in application architecture and security related projects. The position demands that the Engineer constantly strives to be on the current edge of technical trends and practices with the intent of translating that knowledge into continuous software improvement. The Engineer will have daily opportunities to collaborate with many diverse individuals and teams looking to leverage everyone's unique skill sets that range from Business Analysts, Functional Designers, Technical Architects, Quality Control Testers and Customer Support representatives. It will be vital for this team player to have a hand in the analysis of requirements, designing of solutions, coding testing and documentation of solutions. Our collaborative based environment is one that heavily utilizes the Agile principles and applies Scrum methodologies across our many company initiatives. A challenge seeking individual will thrive as a member of the TriZetto family and must be able to break down complex business problems as well as implement sustainable solutions that has a valuable impact on the end user. The position also gives the Engineer a chance to influence the end user experience by participating in the writing of the deployment specification process. Software Engineer “Gets It Done” by:
- Ability to carry out the execution of the designed solutions
- Ability to test and deploy packaged software in multiple environments
- Work effectively with a localized and remote development center within different time zones (including troubleshooting software issues collaboratively with different groups)
- Develop software applications that complement the design and implementation of the build/installation processes
- Maintain Team documentation and work with the product Technical Communications Team to maintain detailed product specific installation requirements and processes.
- Maintain and enhance an automated build and deployment solution for commercial, hosted and SaaS software solutions
- Understanding of the impact of software version and configuration prerequisites in software build and deployment scenarios
- Must have the desire for a very fast paced and challenging position
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Exhibits strong relationship management skills
- Must be team and goal oriented, accountable to self and team, has a passion to learn new business, software and process concepts.
- Value knowledge sharing and mentorship amongst the group which will include peer reviews
Software Engineer is able to “Get It Done” because he or she has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years of configuration/release/build/packaging management experience - Maintain and enhance a framework to support the building and packaging of software in a distributed environment
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
- Working knowledge of MSI, MST, MSM, MSP and related database tables (and related scripting) - Experience with the following technologies will help with the success of the role : MSBUILD, FinalBuilder, .NET Technologies, VBScript, WMI
- Significant working knowledge of software packaging tools: InstallShield and Wise technologies - Working knowledge of registry, security/privileges with NT and Active Directory
- Related Windows Installer troubleshooting, monitoring and debugging tools (Orca, standard tool set, etc.)
- Working knowledge of MS SQL, MS IIS, active Windows Operating Systems - Experience with the following technologies will help with the success of the role: MSBUILD, .NET Technologies
- Experience in TFS
- Experience working in an Agile Development environment
