Description:
The Software Engineer role is to analyze, design, program and test computer software programs and applications. Works closely with Product Design, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance and Customer Support to assess, enhance, maintain and support software solutions to business problems. Using strong logic, computer language syntax and sequencing skills, combined with healthcare industry and practical knowledge, the Software Engineer Lead delivers and maintains application and system software providing comprehensive business solutions to the healthcare industry.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Apply concepts, practices and procedures of system analysis and programming.
- Complete work efficiently and develop high quality, maintainable code.
- Contribute, collaborate and communicate within a team setting.
- Acquire knowledge on existing program constructs, frameworks and functionality, and enhance existing code or develop new code that integrates accordingly.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to challenges and present creative solutions within time boxed deadlines.
- Contribute and follow best practices.
- Participate in feature scoping and level of effort estimation.
- Work both independently and as a team.
- Learn about Healthcare/Payer Industry and TriZetto products and solutions offered.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience. Healthcare industry experience is preferred
- Prefer 2+ years of experience working directly with the construction of enterprise applications
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, SQL Server, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge in web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML, LESS, Bootstrap, etc.)
- Familiarity with a MV* design pattern
- Familiarity with Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture
- Familiarity with Defensive Programming (prevention of SQL injection, cross site scripting attacks, etc.)
- Familiarity with application development centered around usability, scalability, performance, testability, forming strong patterns and responsiveness
- Familiarity with version control tools
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development and familiarity with testing frameworks
- Experience with multiple agile methods and practices (Lean, Scrum, Extreme, Pair Programming, etc.)
