Manager, Software Engineering “Makes a Difference” by:

The Manager is a leadership position that manages SW Engineering and development resources and activities within our TMS application team. Works continuously to improve the quality of the software products and deliverables: gets quality software written and product out the door. Facilitates collaboration with Product Management, QA, Customer Support and the architecture team on the innovative development and best practices of the latest technology for new products as well as enhancing the quality and functionality of existing products. Will ensure engineering resources are aligned with customer needs and contribute to or lead evolution of the solution that conforms to state of the art architectural principles. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the creation of technical specifications, code development/review, configuration/build activities, unit testing, and the regular monitoring and reporting of work progress, problems and trends to deliver software in a timely manner. This position directs the activities and facilitates collaboration with teams of software architects and engineers and may oversee the work of offshore development resources. This position will evaluate the continued evolution of the infrastructure of a product set. Must have a strong understanding of TZ infrastructure, development practices, platforms, and the roles of various groups.

Manager, Software Engineering “Gets It Done” by:

- Responsible for the day today activities of the development.
- Responsible for developing status updates, reports and metrics on an as requested and regularly scheduled basis.
- The development manager is responsible for evaluating the architecture of the solution, developing a comprehensive technical and architectural backlog.
- The development manager is responsible for working with the Product Owners, Product Mgmt and the Architecture team; explaining business value of the technical backlog and help prioritize the release backlog.
- The development manager is responsible for improving and driving the Software Engineering and implementation of technology related products.
- The development manager is responsible for continuous improvement in process and implementing controls to increase efficiency and productivity of engineering practices.
- As a senior leader he will work closely with upper Management, Customers, Partner Teams and Customer Support to maintain and enhance existing product as well as to develop new products.
- This position demands excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong leadership, planning, and management abilities and also should have knowledge on Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- The development manager is also expected to assist in improving the team’s technical ability, utilization, and overall efficiency by establishing best practices and creating individual development plans.

Manager, Software Engineering is able to “Get It Done” because he or she has the following qualifications:

- BA/BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related area.
- 10+ years of working experience in enterprise software design and development.
- 5 + years of experience with .Net framework
- Strong coding experience in C#, JQuery, WCF, MVC and experience working with databases SQL-Server, Oracle and Sybase.
- Strong understanding of development practices such as Agile/Scrum, XP.
- Build a best-in-class software engineering team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations.
- Design and develop state-of-the-art technical approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems.
- Provide leadership and establish technical vision for the team. Able to work with multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
- Mentor and grow junior team members to take on increasingly higher responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills.
- Proven capability as a leader or team manager working on onsite offshore Model.
