Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Manager of Software Engineering (Database Development Manager) to join our R&D group at our Boston Office location. The Manager will work in a dynamic environment focusing on the databases development and delivery of product for Care Advance Enterprise. The manager will be responsible for a functional development team within an agile/scrum environment. This will include activities such as helping the team grow their skills, help them to become more effective and leading them to a stronger, more innovative tomorrow. We are looking for professionally-confident candidates who enjoy a fast-paced environment with strong communication, leadership, team-work, strong working knowledge of scrum and management skills.

Responsibilities:

- The candidate will be responsible growing people on the team.
- The candidate will be responsible for motivating and team building within the development teams.
- Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to Resource Management, Personnel Administration and Status Reporting.
- Using prior experience the Manager will be responsible for inspecting current processes and procedures in an effort to identify issues and help teams improve it.
- Candidate will be responsible for helping to set goals for individuals and the team.
- Candidate will be responsible for providing the development team with leadership and mentoring.
- Candidate will need to have a strong mind towards innovation and helping the teams grow in the right direction.
- The candidate should be a strong team player with a natural aspiration for excellence.
- As the Manager of Software Engineering for databases team, you will be responsible for managing a team of about 5 to 10 SQL Server database developers responsible for developing CareAdvance Enterprise.
- Design, implement and operate database systems for performance, reliability and maximum availability.
- The candidate will be responsible for scaling the application database backend for large clients.
- Responsibility also includes some business intelligence components
- Candidate will be responsible for providing the development team with technical guidance and leadership.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or relevant equivalent
- 3 to 5+ years’ experience in managing software development teams and/or data warehousing teams and 7+ years of database development.
- Candidate must have prior experience designing and implementing advanced systems designed for commercial use.
- Candidate must have prior experience designing and implementing data warehouse platforms.
- Web Technologies experience is required.
- Database technologies experience is required. Significant MS SQL Server and SSIS experience is a major plus.
- Prior experience with C#, C++ is a plus.
